SUICIDE BOMBER BLOWS HIMSELF UP AS ZIMBABWE PLAYS PAKISTAN

Lahore: A sub-inspector was killed and six others injured after a suicide blast outside Gadaffi Stadium in Lahore where the second one day international (ODI) match between Pakistan and Zimbabwe was ongoing, media reported on Saturday.

Policemen stopped the bomber before he could enter the outer wall of the Gaddafi Stadium where he blew himself up on Friday night, killing the sub-inspector, Geo News reported.

The Pakistan Broadcasters Association in conjunction with the information ministry earlier decided to not report the incident in order to avoid any untoward incident such as a stampede during the match at the stadium.

The 50-over match, however, remained uninterrupted amid the explosion
